Live Fire Training Classes
While sitting in a classroom for 8 hours straight talking about guns is pretty fun, we find actually shooting just that bit more interesting. This is why we offer multiple live fire training classes from defensive pistol to intro to red dot to multi-target and shooting and moving. Below is a list of our upcoming classes. Upcoming Live Fire Classes
Defensive Pistol Fundamentals – 1
Saturday, January 27th – 9am to 1pm
This class is a live fire training opportunity to work on defensive pistol skills. This first class will focus on fundamentals, including grip, site picture, and draw.
Intermediate Defensive Pistol – 2
Saturday, February 24th – 9am to 1pm
This intermediate defensive pistol class will focus on taking the next step in your firearms proficiency with items like target transitions, reactive targets, and reload drills.
Next Level Defensive Pistol – 3
Saturday, March 30th – 9am to 1pm
This next level defensive pistol class is an advanced class for practicing shooting and moving, transitions, and reactive targets.
Other Live Fire Classes We Offer
Defensive Pistol
Learn to basic self defense pistol skills needed to feel confident carrying a gun. We focus on good grip, presentation, and target acquisition, while offering opportunities to draw from concealment and shoot fast
Multi-Target
Learn to engage more than one target at once and start to think through proper target engagement. We focus on attaining the proper site picture, engaging multiple targets, and efficiently transitioning between targets.
Intro to Red Dot
Learn to find the dot every time with this Intro to Red Dot class. We cover red dot basics and practice draw mechanics, proper sight picture, and presentation for fast dot acquisition.
Shooting on the Move
Learn to engage engage targets while on the move and establish more advanced pistol skills. We focus on efficient body mechanics for shooting on the move, effective target transitions while moving, and the cognitive skills needed to choose a target.
Cognitive Shooting Skills
Learn to think while shooting to increase your chance of surviving a self-defense encounter. We cover cognitive load when shooting, shoot/no-shoot situations, and light scenario runs.
Cure the Flinch
Learn to cure the most common pistol issue – recoil anticipation or flinch. We focus on recognizing the flinch, offer mental and physical tools to overcome it, and practice dot torture to cement those skills.
Looking for Other Training Opportunities?
Not everyone is ready to jump right into a live fire class with other students, which is why we offer private basic handgun safety classes, pistol introduction classes, and other private training if you want to get better, but aren’t quite sure where to start.
